In the beginning
Every story has a beginning a middle and an end. Sometimes it all comes full circle. The owners of Fable Diner & Bar were on the opening team of the Kingston Taphouse back in the day. Ron left in 2012 to start the story and opened Fable Kitchen in Kitsilano on Friday May 11th. Fable continues to cook amazing local, fresh food in a warm inviting atmosphere. We have always loved diners for the simplicity and honest cooking and service. A diner has a different story, vibe, soul and local cuisine. Every road trip or any city we always looked for a local diner to sit down, relax order some coffee and observe the local surrounding. The story continues with Fable Diner up at the corner of Main & Broadway at the base of the historic Lee Building. We wanted to build something timeless. Looks and feels brand new 5 years later and the feeling it has always been here. We are not your average diner, we are Vancouver’s Diner and try and show case local ingredients, suppliers and make almost everything from scratch
Full circle
Ron had built a relationship with Fred & Sean O’Hagen and their family while working at the Kingston location. The Kingston Hotel was built by his father and is the number 1 budget boutique hotel in Vancouver. There is history there and we are so honoured to be able to come back to the space and forge new history and memories for many years to come and let a new generation of locals make this their favourite spot. From the Rat (Rose & Thorn) to the Kingston and now for Fable Diner & Bar. Combining all the best that Fable in Kits and Fable Diner have to offer in a new location
So we are stoked and are looking forward in having an amazing 2022 and beyond with you, your friends and your family to come and drink, eat and party with the fable family
